Prickly Pear Gallery - Carbon

Located in the Historic Farmers Exchange Building, the Prickly Pear Gallery features a collection of local artists' work including eclectic furniture, metal work, pen & ink, photo, pottery, oil paintings, textile art (quilts and rugs), watercolor painting and wood carvings. Beiseker Station Museum - Beiseker

Located in the old CPR Train Station, the museum provides a window into lives of the early settlers of the area.  The museum is also home to a CPR caboose and Sod House. Open year-round. A curator is available to give tours July and August. Phone (403) 947-3774 for more information.

Buffalo Jump Canyon Ranch Trail Rides - Huxley

Chrissie's Antique Bottle Collection - Rockyford

Custom Woolen Mills Ltd. - 16 km West of Linden on Hwy 581 and 5 km North

Historic manufacturing comes to life as you tour this working museum. Original machinery dating back to 1868 is still used to produce quality wool products such as comforters, socks and sweaters. Gopher Hole Museum & Gift Shop - Torrington

Torrington is the home to the internationally-visited Gopher Hole Museum. This attraction features stuffed gophers posed in a series of 31 anthropomorphic scenes, from a hair dresser to a preacher to an RCMP officer. Phone (403) 631-2133 for more information.

Grande Ole West Villa Ranch - Beiseker

The history of the west comes to life on this 2,000-acre working cattle ranch, complete with a pioneer bakery, police post, mercantile and other exhibits. Open May to October. Phone (403) 947-2143 for a tour.

Kneehill Historical Society Museum - Three Hills

Pioneer Acres - Irricana

Pioneer Acres houses possibly the largest exhibition of antique farm machinery in Western Canada. Museum exhibits feature such artifacts as Depression glass, Royal memorabilia and homesteading wares. Also on display are steam and gas tractors, tools of the blacksmithing trade, threshing machines and horse-drawn equipment, a 1905 Crown school house and the Ron Carey collection of professionally restored antique trucks. Rosebud District Centennial Museum - Rosebud

Rosebud Centennial Museum highlights the pioneer and ranching history of the Rosebud, Redland and Beynon area.

St. Ann Ranch Provincial Historic Site & Museum - Trochu

St. Ann Ranch Museum and Interpretive Centre is a Provincial Historic Site that holds seven original museums from Trochu and area. Open every day during the Spring, Summer and Fall months, from 9:00 am till dusk.

Trochu District Museum & Historical Society - Trochu

The Museum tells the story of the history of the early settlers and Trochu’s beginnings. It features extensive pictorial displays starting with Mr. Trochu’s Ranch in the coulée, the arrival of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, coal mining, and agriculture. Other displays include a blacksmith shop, pioneer kitchen, general store, war memorial and a newspaper office with the actual printing press and lino type that was used by the Trochu Tribune, a weekly newspaper that served Trochu and area from 1911 until 1977. Parks & Gardens

Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park - 30 km NE of Trochu on Hwy 21

Located near Trochu, this park features stunning vistas and ancient rock formations, including hoodoos, sandstone banks and more. Hiking, picnicking and swimming in the Red Deer River are popular park activities. The 45 m (148') buffalo jump is one of the tallest in Alberta and the badland environment conjures visions of days long ago. The park is open from May to September and the access road is closed during rainy spells, but hikers can still enjoy the park.  Phone (403) 442-4211 for more information.

Trochu Arboretum - Trochu

Bring your family and friends and follow the rambling red shale pathways through a living museum of horticultural wonder. The arboretum has attracted many species of birds, making bird-watching and plant admiring an exciting and interesting adventure.
