Self-Employment Program - Application Process

To apply for the Self Employment Program:

1. Meet with our Self-Employment Coordinator for an Orientation Session.

This is to help determine if you are an eligible candidate for the program.

2. Complete the application package, along with a business summary for review.

You will hear immediately if your application has been approved. A contract outlining duties and obligations will then need to be signed.

3. Sign your contract.

If your application is declined, you may have the opportunity to provide additional information or revisions to the business summary for review at a later date.

4. Complete our Education for Entrepreneurs and develop a full business plan.

If the business is viable and you are accepted as a client, you must undertake our entrepreneurial education program which offers valuable information and access to additional resources while you develop your business plan. As a self-employment program client, Community Futures Wild Rose will cover the cost of this training.

5. Finish your business plan and submit it for review.

After your training, the Self-Employment Coordinator will review the viability and sustainability of the proposed business. You may be asked to provide additional information or clarification regarding your business plan.

6. Start your business!

The Self-Employment Coordinator remains available for advice, guidance and support throughout this process.
